Hello,
I am trying to create a launcher for MySQL Workbench. I go right click --> mysql-workbench-bin --> Make it a launcher, but then I get the following message:
"Sorry, couldn't find the corresponding description file.
Consider dragging and dropping the launcher from the application menu"
well, drag-and-drop also fails.
how can this be solved?
I am using
cairo-dock 3.3.2
ubuntu 14.04.1 (x64)
OpenGL: 2.1 Mesa 10.1.3
Compiz WM
Unity DE.
thanks a lot,

Hello and thank you for your interest in cairo-dock.
I am not one of the developers so I am not positive about what I am going to tell you but I did install mysql-workbench to investigate this issue and here is what I have found:
The command /usr/bin/mysql-workbench (which is what gets run by the system when using the menu or command line) is a symbolic link to /usr/lib/mysql-workbench/mysql-workbench so that may be causing the issue.
What I did to resolve this was create a custom launcher with the following settings:
Launcher's name: mysql-workbench
Image's name or path: /usr/share/app-install/icons/mysql-workbench.png
Command to launch on click: /usr/bin/mysql-workbench
Class of program: mysql-workbench-bin
The icon I chose wasn't the one that gets used when I run the command from the menu. If you want to use a different icon you can search for the one you would like to use. The Class of program setting is under the Extra Parameters section. |
