Hello, I have a simple problem. I haven't found same question on the forum. In my case the indication of date and time in clock applet are separated by too many spaces. Maybe it's not bug but feature (for visual separation of different values), but i prefer a comma. Is there a way to configure my own sequence of date and time values like "%D %M, %h:%m:%s"?

My config: ver. 3.3.2, Ubuntu 14.04, OpenGL, Compiz, Cairo-dock (GNOME). |

IF you are on the weekly ppa it is something the doncky applet can do.
A very cool applet which has lost some love. Anyway with this you can almost achieve any configuration you want. If you are not affraid to lose the calendar which come with the time and date applet
I am not sure the time and date applet will be able to do that. |

Hello,
I don't know why but this "gap" is computed like that: 12% of the width reserved by your applet.
It's interesting to not use a fixed size (e.g. 10 pixels) but it's maybe better to compute the size of a char draw at this size.
It should be better with this modification => rev 3118 |

@mattbe what about a setting to be able to configure the order manually as suggested? and be able to add some extra charachters or spaces "%D %M, %h:%m:%s"
I know it has been requested few times. I am tempted to put a task for it |

There are already a few options (with/without seconds, with/without date, 12/24 hours mode).
We could add a custom mode but then we will have to force the use of the "one line" mode for that (hard to know where to split the text with a custom mode).
About new options for clock: why not having an option to automatically set the right reserved width of the icon? |
