Hi... i'm user of Ubuntu, right now using 13.04 Raring Ringtail (daily build). I don't what's wrong on my desktop. Cairo Dock can't show on the center bottom of my desktop, as you see below.
I have used latest update both of Ubuntu and Cairo dock. Simply to fix, open 'Configure' on Cairo Dock, choose 'System', then add check at the composition, click 'apply', then uncheck at the composition, click 'apply'. It return the center, bottom of my desktop. It's simple, but make me tired to resolve every openning my desktop.
Can anybody explain what's wrong on my desktop? |

Hello and thank you for this bug report!
Can you check if you're using the latest stable version (3.2.1 uploaded 18 hours ago) => cairo-dock -v
Then can you open the advanced mode of the config panel / Position and check on which screen Cairo-Dock is set? Can you also post the output messages produced by this command: grep num_screen ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme/cairo-dock.conf |

with command -> cairo-dock -v, result : 3.2.1
then with -> grep num_screen ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme/cairo-dock.conf, result: num_screen=0
I've recenetly updated my Raring Ringtail, always keep on update. I think the Unity desktop is common problem. It doesn't matter when adopting on KDE or Kubuntu. |

Strange... I'm using a Cairo-Dock session on Ubuntu (with Compiz, the same window manager that yours) and I don't have this problem.
Can you launch the dock from a terminal with this command and then post all output messages on pastebin? |

what if you start the dock from a terminal ?
maybe you just need to start it with a delay on startup ?

It seems that the dock detect the right dimensions: 1280x1024.
Do you also have this bug when launching the dock from a terminal? If yes, can you also post here the content of this file: ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme/cairo-dock.conf |

I don't see
the debug prints are disabled in the code, so we can't have more info
if you're ok to compile the dock, I can tell you which lines to uncomment to enable more traces |

If you are using an NVidia card, can you also try without Xinerama or twinview options? (from nvidia-settings panel) |

I'm having the problem currently. and with Ubuntu 14.04 and cairo-dock 3.4.0 from the repository.
I had the one from ubuntu repository and it was acting up so i updated to the latest one from the ppa but still have the same problem.
I have to manually kill the process and restart on every boot to make it appear in the bottom center of the screen. |

couldn't find an appropriate visual, trying to get one without Stencil buffer

This shortkey is probably already used by another applet or another application

Did you try to change settings in the advanced mode of the config panel, "Position" module? |
