Running Cairo-dock 3.1.2 in Xubuntu 12.10 (more than 1 machine).
Every time I unmount something (USB, remote drive), Cairo-dock crashes and instantly restarts.
This happens only when the Shortcuts plugin is present.
The output from the CLI is
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0x00007ffff6546f94 in cairo_dock_calculate_wave_with_position_linear () from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgldi.so.3
With a more verbose output:
Cairo-Dock has crashed (sig 11).
It will be restarted now.
Feel free to report this bug on glx-dock.org to help improving the dock!
info on the system :
Linux redpixel 3.5.0-20-generic #31-Ubuntu SMP Wed Dec 5 13:27:11 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Couldn't guess if it was an applet's fault or not. It may have crashed inside the core or inside a thread
restarting with 'cairo-dock -l debug -w 2 -q 1'...

thank you for the ddd output, that's nice !
could you please describe the sub-dock containing the disks ?
(how many disks and bookmarks ? the unmounted volume is the first one ? the lase one ? what kind of volume is it ?) |

The Shortcuts applet is set to list Drives and Volumes (3 physical drives, 1 network drives) as well as Bookmarks (8 of them), but not Networks.
The view is Parabolic.
When I mount a remote connection (FTP, SSH) or a USB drive, they get added right after "File System". If I unmount them, either from within the applet or from elsewhere, the Dock crashes. Right at the point where it should popup "<drive> has been umounted".
This also happens on a fresh Xubuntu 12.10 in VirtualBox.
Here is the output for an unmounted USB drive. For a disconnected FTP site, only the second warning and crash is output.
warning : (/build/buildd/cairo-dock-plug-ins-3.1.0/shortcuts/src/applet-drives.c:_manage_event_on_drive:84)
an unknown mount point was removed
warning : (/build/buildd/cairo-dock-3.1.0/src/cairo-dock.c:_cairo_dock_intercept_signal:155)
Cairo-Dock has crashed (sig 11).
It will be restarted now. |

I just narrowed down the problem to the parabolic view.
If the view for the sub-dock is set to Parabolic, Curve, 3D plane or Default, the Dock crashes.

Thanks for the details
I'm on it, I suppose that one icon is invalid but it's hard to guess
at least, I could reproduce it on Lucid (by the way, it's nice to see that the dock still works perfectly on "old" distro ) |
