I am unable to see anything except the mail in the list on the messaging menu. There is about 8 things I can hover over and click but the mail is the only one that is readable in white font. And it seems like there is more and more appearing randomly. If I close and reopen cairo dock I only have 7 again. Most of the clickable blank spaces launch the empathy contact list. Is there a way to force a different color scheme for MM if that is my issue? I have tried to change the Ubuntu color scheme but it did not effect cairo docks MM at all.
    • The version of Cairo-Dock ('cairo-dock -v' in a terminal).

    • Your Desktop Environment (Gnome, KDE, XFCE, etc.).
Gnome
    • How you got the bug and therefore the answer to the question 'How can the bug be reproduced'.

Added Messaging menu and clicked on it

no warning in the terminal ?
I also have the problem, I'll try to figure out what have changed from Lucid to Maverick for the 2.2.1

Guest, Thursday 11 November 2010 à 05:16

!!! Don't forget the Anti-spam filter !!!
Heh, I've had the same problem since I downloaded the dock. I still use the dock over panels because it's great, but I'd love the messaging menu to be legible.

But I'm using Natty

Really stupid question guys. I'm having the same issue as matttbe, and I'm sure you guys are working to correct this issue of having no text or icons in the messaging menu. My question is when you fix this issue, how would I update my dock/messaging menu applet? I installed through the ubuntu software center and am hoping to not have to reinstall because I got rid of all my Gnome panels. Any suggestions?

@Guest: you can use the "weekly" version or by using the version from our "stable" repository. So you will have the next stable version without this bug (I hope)

Fabounet,

Care to post your code? I grabbed 2.2.1~0alpha1 from apt-get source last night, and I'd be interested in seeing what direction your taking it. Mine's still pretty buggy. For some reason there are a number of blank menu items that just refuse to disappear, but It works well with evolution and empathy. I did notice that liferea doesn't display your feeds until it is alive and updates.

I had just forgotten to initialize the gtk group-size widget
I think it's much better now, but I can't push until I finish something else on the core because I've messed a little with bzr

so the line to add is:
indicator_right_group = gtk_size_group_new(GTK_SIZE_GROUP_HORIZONTAL);

in cd_messaging_add_menu_handler()

On Natty too.

Guest, Tuesday 15 February 2011 à 18:24

So how do we get the version that this is fixed in? I'm on 10.10, and my updates are up to date, but I'm still having this issue.
