Hello there!
I'm using Cairo 2.2.0-4 on Ubuntu 10.10, i also use Compiz.
I would like to use the Mail Applet which i set up with my gmail account, but i came across two issues. Perhaps i've been too lazy and didn't look enough for an answer, but here it comes:
When finding a new mail the rotate effect is processed on the Mail icon. I didn't find a way to customise or disable this effect.
When left-clicking on the icon, although i set the mail application to Firefox, it does not open Firefox on the mail.google.com page.
How can i solve these issues and be happy again ?
Thanks
B. |

1/ indeed there is no option for that, it should be added, thanks for pointing this out.
2/ I think you have to set "firefox mail.google.com" as the application
maybe it's not clear that you haev to enter the actual command. |

did you write it correctly (and without the quotes) ?
if it works for "thunderbird", it should for any command |

Yes i did. In fact as i right-click on the applet i can select "launch firefox http://mail.google.com and it works fine. As i left click on the applet icon however, there is no reaction. |

Ha! I just found out the solution to the firefox question.
I had specified the command-line in the main configuration tab whilst i had to fill it in the account specific tab! Now it works!
Thanks. |

With regard to the hotmail account: i managed to get the settings to connect on pop3.live.com
The applet however does not differentiate read from unread emails. The applet currently shows 6436 unread emails
Any idea how to fix that?
Thanks. |

PS: i couldn't find out the option to change the "rotate" effect to "bounce" in the configuration file either. |

matttbe : The applet however does not differentiate read from unread emails. The applet currently shows 6436 unread emails It's due to pop3 But you can mark all as read or scroll down ;)
Nope, it's not working for me. Scrolling or marking as read change nothing... |
