fabounet : there is a button for email notifications on the top of the page
about your bug, could you please try :
mv ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme.bak
and then restart the dock, and tell me exactly the actions you do to make the bug appear ?
After seeing how much I'd have to configure to restore my configuration, I decided to go back to backup immediately.
But surprise, surprise. I just lost hours of configuration because after restoring the backup this command created, the docks are still at default.
And I cannot log in here because my password doesn't work and there is no "remind password" option. |

But surprise, surprise. I just lost hours of configuration because after restoring the backup this command created, the docks are still at default. What did you do to revert back? Something like thatrm -r ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme.bak
cp ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme.bak ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme |

So do you mean there is no way of resetting the password and I need to create a new user?
Also, the command you gave me first removes both directories and then tries to copy one that has been removed... |

Anyway, since I have to set CD from scratch, I went back to using stable version from Ubuntu repos.
One question - how do I change order of fields in the dock so that opened windows are in the middle, and on at the end of the default dock? |

Also, the command you gave me first removes both directories and then tries to copy one that has been removed. No you said that your settings has dissapeared and I would to know if you have removed both directories or if you have duplicated the previous one, sorry for the confusion.
One question - how do I change order of fields in the dock so that opened windows are in the middle, and on at the end of the default dock? It should be there: advanced mode of the config panel / Icon module
So do you mean there is no way of resetting the password It's possible but not for those that have lost their password. This forum has to be improve but this is not my first priority now... |

yep, think of your exams Matttbe, and then think of your applet
the order of the different groups is also directly in the simple config panel, second tab. |

Guest : There is no "advanced" anywhere in options. I am using 2.1.3 ChangeLog.txt : 2.1.3 = GLX-Dock 2.1.3\n - A new and simplified configuration panel has been written
- Open the config panel
- Click on the button on the bottom-left
- Icon module

Ah, I couldn't see "Advanced" as I was already in this mode.
If you mean "Appearance/Icons" then when I click it, config panel crashes and closes. |

Purge CD and reinstall itsudo apt-get purge cairo-dock*
sudo apt-get install cairo-dock if you still have the bug, can you launch CD with and post the output after having open the config panel ? |

Actually, entire CD crashes not just the config panel.
Here's part of the output:

Feel free to report this bug on glx-dock.org to help improving the dock !
info on the system :
Linux Beyond2000 2.6.32.9-newyork #1 SMP Sat Feb 27 22:34:59 GMT 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Couldn't guess if it was an applet's fault or not. It may have crashed inside the core or inside a thread |

Ok, after yet another re-installation, I was no able to change order of icons. I lost some icons, but can live without it.
I must say, regardless the problems, I think this is a great application.
Thanks for writing it and the support.
Even my account started working again.
PS
The "Subscribe" button is a great improvement. Let's see how it works.
PS2
Would be great, if one would be able to change order of shortcuts in "Shortcuts" applet. Now, you can do it, but they revert back as soon as the applet is closed. |

Hmm. I added some Alu icons and voila - the CD crashes again when I am trying to click on Icons in Appearances. |

I think there is another problem...
Can you open another module? E.g. MusicPlayer and System?
Do you have change some right access? in your home directory or in /usr/share/icons?
Can you try with a clean config directory? mv ~/.config/cairo-dock/ ~/.config/cairo-dock.bak/ |

do you test it in a VM ?
Is it when you click on the button, or when you let the mouse on it ? |

Happens with MusicPlayer as well and this is a new config.
No changed rights and it's my home folder. |

not a single clue
what kind of desktop do you have : Gnome ? Compiz ? graphic card ? run the dock with opengl or without ? what if you run it with/without ? what if you try with the default theme ? do you run the latest beta build or the stable version ? did you try the other one ? |
