Hi,

I use both CD and Guayadeque (http://sourceforge.net/projects/guayadeque/) a lot. It would be nice to see this fine player in musicPlayer's list of supported players :-). Is there an easy way to integrate this (or any other) player into musicPlayer?

Tak

For now, MusicPlayer has some troubles. Applications, as Exaile, are in the list but not really supported.

Otherwise, I discover Guayadeque : which differences with other music applications ?

(Message added on the task #12)

It's commited, sorry for the delay

But it seems there is little bug with MPRIS support of CD.

PS: @Fabounet: can you have a look? => when I do a right click on MP icon with Guayadeque, it quits the application...

Yes and I've a
Erreur de segmentation
.

But if I use D-Feet, all is ok... Or I made a typo? It's strange because before I'd the cover and not now...

well if the player crashes after a Dbus call, it's not our fault

about MP there might be some little bug, I'm not sure (using Qmmp, it seems I have to validate the config one time to get it work)... hard to know if it's the player or the applet that does something wrong

I don't have any problem with Exaile but if you have Exaile0.3, you've to choose Exaile 3 and enable MPRIS (it's written in MP handbook)

@lylambda:

well, with guayadeque there is not really so much of a difference to other apps at first look. However, many things are very well integrated into one single application. And, it's surprisingly stable, very fast, highly customizable, and performs well with large libraries. I like it a lot

@matttbe:

Thank you testing on Guayadeque with MP

Hello,
Im the developer of guayadeque and I would like to fix any issue with it. Please can you compile from source and compile using ./buildd so it compiles with debug and then run it from gdb to get a backtrace ?

Thanks
J.Rios

@ J.Rios: oh, I was going to contact you . I'm uploading a new weekly version for our weekly ppa if you want to test it.
But I can try to compile guayadeque tomorrow.
Thank you!

EDIT: sorry, there is a little bug . I'll upload it tomorrow !

@ J.Rios: I just have updated our 'weekly ppa' (v.2.1.4-0beta1-20100424), so if you want to test our MP applet with Guayadeque, you're welcome

@ matttbe: that's good news. Thank you

I did some testing today: Guayadeque starts fine when clicking on the musicPlayer Applet but crashes as soon as I try to control it (Play/Stop/Forward etc.) giving following message when running Guayadeque from gdb:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
[Switching to Thread 0x7fffe8cac910 (LWP 13069)]
0x00000000006aa4a8 in guDBusServer::Send (this=<value optimized out>,
msg=0x0)
at ~/guayadeque/src/dbus/gudbus.cpp:198
198 return dbus_connection_send( m_DBusConn, msg->GetMessage(),
NULL );

However cover, tags and time played/left are displayed o.k.

I hope you or Juan Rios (anonbeat  users.sourceforge net) will find an easy solution.

Thanks a lot for caring

Tak

EDIT: BTW I had a dependency problem with cairo-dock-data and amazonmp3 when updating

This should be fixed in svn now.

Thanks for pointing me the bug.

I can confirm that anonbeat fixed the bug in Guayadeque (svn 959).

This player is now very well integrated in musicPlayer

@matttbe Thank you for putting guayadeque in the list of supported players!

Tak
