Hi,

The cairo-dock suddenly stopped. It was working perfectly before.

Trying to run from the terminal gives the following: cairo-dock -o

(cairo-dock:3487): WARNING : Can't load fallback CSS resource: Failed to import: The resource at '/org/gnome/adwaita/gtk-fallback.css' does not exist

I am using Linux mint 17.1 cinnamon. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall but no luck with it.
Any suggestion about this problem and how to resolve it.

Hello and thank you for this bug report (and sorry for the delay!)

Is it possible to get a backtrace of this crash with GDB? It's very helpful and easy to get it thanks to instructions found there: ddd

I had a similar issue last night with my dock.
I spent literally 4 hours removing this thing and reinstalling and reading to figure out what was wrong before I fixed it.

My method might not be the correct thing but here's the way I did it.

Remove the program completely.
I'm on mint 18 and used software center to install it initially, so I used that to remove it.
I found it strange that even after doing that I could still use synaptic to remove it completely again, so I did it there also.
Then I opened my home folder and enabled the option to "show hidden files" under the "view" menu.
From there go into the ".config" hidden folder (which should now be visible) delete the cairo-dock folder and then re-install the program.

I suppose if I simply went into the "themes" folder and removed my two saved themes and then reinstalled the program that would have worked,
however considering that the program isn't on the machine anyway I don't see what harm could come from removing the whole thing since in your case
no one knows what caused the problem.

For my issue what happened was, I made a few changes to the dock and saved them to two separate template.
As I went along making changes I went over-writing the templates now and then and switching between them.
When I did that for the final time one template wouldn't load like it should have and there simply wasn't a dock at the bottom of the screen.
I ignored it and went ahead an restarted. From that point on cairo simply wouldn't launch.

I know this reply is years later but hopefully it could help someone who has this random error.

Cheers.
