Dear forum,
I am new to Linux and I am new to Cairo Dock too.
So please try to be as simple as possible when explaining...
My problem is with Kingsoft Office (WPS Office).
I want to add the Writer, Presentation and Spreadsheets on the dock.
I have done so with the first two.
I have problems with Spreadsheets.
When I try to make it a launcher (see print-screens) it creates a launcher of another application.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
George Nikolakopoulos
PS.
Can I upload pictures...???
I have tried but I am not sure at all that you can see what I tried to upload...
Don't forget to read our very complete Wiki (www.glx-dock.org/ww_page.php) !
But don't be shy to post all your questions or bugs here !
However before you post a message on the forum and to speed up things, don't forget to include as much informations as you can (if it's possible ):- The version of Cairo-Dock ('cairo-dock -v' in a terminal).
- Your GNU/Linux distribution (Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, etc.).
- Or you using OpenGL or not.
- Your Window manager (Compiz, Metacity, Kwin, Openbox, etc.).
- Your Desktop Environment (Gnome, KDE, XFCE, etc.).
- How you got the bug and therefore the answer to the question 'How can the bug be reproduced'.
- If it's a crash, you can launch Cairo-Dock from a terminal ('cairo-dock') and post the output.
- Any other details you think could be useful .
Don't forget to replace this text by yours ! |

Hello and thank you for choosing to use cairo-dock.
When you make the spreadsheet application a launcher how do you do it?
You should be able to drag it from the application menu to the dock to create a launcher. Also when you have the spreadsheet open it should appear as an icon in the dock. Right clicking on the icon and going to the sub-menu for the application should have an entry to make it a launcher.
As for images, the best way is to use the Drop to Share applet. I believe it works like this (but I have not done it myself): Add the applet to the dock and drag an image to the Drop to Share icon. This will upload the image to the default site (you can change this be editing the Drop to Share configuration) and put the link in your clipboard. You then click the insert image icon at the top of the Post a message box (this inserts curly braces) and paste the link between the open and close curly braces. If you don't get the link on the clipboard click the Drop to Share icon and it should then put it on the clipboard. |
