Hi CD Team,
I am on Debian Testing (Jessie) and recently CD was updated to version 3.3.2 via the Debian repositories.
Unfortunately the shortcut links in my stacks have now stopped working.
The web url icons are still there (together with their favicon emblem), but they don't do anything when clicked.
Also, the icons for shortcuts to disk files are still there, with the correct labels, but the icons are replaced by one used for an unrecognised folder.
All other aspects of the dock are working - launchers, clock, dustbin, icon effects, etc.
Details:
CD bersion 3.3.2
Linux 3.14-1-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 3.14.7-1 (2014-06-16) i686 GNU/Linux
Debian Testing / Jessie
Using OpenGL
xfwm4 window manager
xfce desktop
Thunar file manager
I have checked the contents of the files in:
~/.config/cairo-dock/stack
and they all look good.
Output from CD:
sh: 1: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/cairo-dock/cairo-dock-launcher-API-daemon: not found
GldiShortkey '<Control>F1' failed!
warning : (/build/cairo-dock-Xinaym/cairo-dock-3.3.2/src/gldit/cairo-dock-keybinder.c:init_object:455)
Couldn't bind '<Control>F1' (Applications Menu: Show/hide the Applications menu)
This shortkey is probably already used by another applet or another application
GldiShortkey '<Control>F2' failed!
warning : (/build/cairo-dock-Xinaym/cairo-dock-3.3.2/src/gldit/cairo-dock-keybinder.c:init_object:455)
Couldn't bind '<Control>F2' (Applications Menu: Show/hide the quick-launch dialogue)
This shortkey is probably already used by another applet or another application
warning : (/build/cairo-dock-Xinaym/cairo-dock-3.3.2/src/gldit/cairo-dock-surface-factory.c:cairo_dock_create_surface_from_image:565)
Couldn't recognise the image file format for file '/home/gkh/.config/cairo-dock/favicons/www.alternativenews.net'
Looks like the first line in the above output may point to the problem.
Under the CD DBus menu, 'Launch the Launcher API daemon' is ticked.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Maybe I have a missing Debian package?
Thanks! |

Hello and thank you for this bug report,
According to the output, I guess you're not using our packages (from our repository), right?
Unfortunately, it seems they don't have fixed a few old bugs in these packages (files missing, wrong dependences, etc.) and this is why we advice to use our Debian repository: ww_page.php?p=From the repository&lang=en#3-Debian
If it doesn't fix your problems, please add a new comment here |

Thanks mattbe.
In the hope to rescue the Debian packages, I looked again at what was installed.
Although xfce integration was installed (package cairo-dock-xfce-integration-plug-in),
I noticed the package cairo-dock-gnome-integration-plug-in wasn't installed.
Even though I am not using gnome desktop, I installed it anyway, and restarted CD.
Amazingly, it solved the problem!
The warnings CD now gives on start-up are:
sh: 1: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/cairo-dock/cairo-dock-launcher-API-daemon: not found
GldiShortkey '<Control>F1' failed!
warning : (/build/cairo-dock-Xinaym/cairo-dock-3.3.2/src/gldit/cairo-dock-keybinder.c:init_object:455)
Couldn't bind '<Control>F1' (Applications Menu: Show/hide the Applications menu)
This shortkey is probably already used by another applet or another application
warning : (/build/cairo-dock-Xinaym/cairo-dock-3.3.2/src/gldit/cairo-dock-surface-factory.c:cairo_dock_create_surface_from_image:565)
Couldn't recognise the image file format for file '/home/gkh/.config/cairo-dock/favicons/www.alternativenews.net'
So still much the same warnings.
Anyway, problem solved! |

Yes but I think it's still better to uninstall all these Cairo-Dock packages and install our packages |
