The notes applet on Cairo-dock is great. If I can't get INSTANT access to the notes, then its not worth it for me, but this is something I actually use. To make it even better, I would love to see a way to sync the notes to Google Keep so that I can access them by web or cell phone, plaster then on my cell's desktop, etc. Sync it!

Hello,

This is a good idea! Unfortunately, it seems there isn't any API for Google Keep => https://developers.google.com/products/#k
We could parse Google Keep's website but it's not clean and easy and they can easily change the website and break our plugin...
I hope they will add a public API for Google Keep!

As workaround, you can use the Google Chrome App Launcher (but it's not really a workaround...)

I wouldn't attempt to parse the website. Google changes stuff too often. It would be a waste of time.

From what I can tell Keep uses the Google Drive API to save its data. I believe it uses the App Folder:

I don't like Chrome because it won't support smooth-scrolling (even when I turn it on in the developer settings section), and I don't know if all my Firefox plugins are supported. Besides - its not as handy as seeing your notes in thumb-nail when the mouse moves over it. I LOVE that.

I don't know how to see inside the App folder though because its designed to be private to the app. The fuse-google-drive filesystem doesn't cheat and give you access (sometimes linux apps do things they are supposed to - we love to hack stuff).

I am not really sure how much effort I would want to put into Google Keep. Even Google refuses to link Keep to their Google Drive so Keep probably won't be around long enough to worry about.

If you really want to use a Google app then I would select one of the other notepad apps on your Google Drive.

Yes I saw that but I'm not sure we can easily access to these data and correctly add data. And it's maybe strange to need access to all data of your Google Drive account just to read one file...
If we want to add the support of Google keep, I think it will be easier to create a new third-party applet (in python or another language)

Another bad workaround : You can also enable the weblet applet in a desklet and display this webpage : http://keep.google.com/
