Well, I downloaded and installed today, into Ubuntu precise on a chromebook. When I clicked on setup, I found a checkbox labeled "reserve space." I clicked it and what happened was my work space started climbing down the screen in five or six steps, then went to the top and did it again. is topped my version of kde, started it again - and cairo resumed its very sad behavior. I can barely find the "leave" button to log out.

Alas, this behavior renders my linux installation useless. Before I reset my chromebook to factory defaults, is there anything I can do to capture control of my system? It looks as if cairo dock is very nice - except for this looping.

Thanks

OK, uninstalling cairo-dock did not seem to work. I dumped linux entirely to get out of it. whew.

This is strange!
Did you use the OpenGL backend? (I'm not sure that it's supported on a ChromeBook).
Maybe because the dock was in conflict with another application (a panel?). But it should be managed by X11...
