My environment :
- Cairo-Dock 3.3.2 (OpenGL)
- Arch Linux
- Window manager : mutter
- Your Desktop Environment : cinnamon 2.0
- Reproduction : choose 'log out' or 'switch user' from the applet's menu.
Whenever I choose 'logout' or 'switch user' from the applet's menu, nothing happens. The other options 'shutdown', 'restart' etc. do work. I even tried a custom command for logout ('cinnamon-session-quit --logout') but that did not work either.
Note that as of cinnamon 2.0 a new session manager is used and cinnamon does not depend on gnome shell anymore. |

Hello and thank you for this bug report!
Is it maybe possible to install the development version (cairo-dock-bzr and cairo-dock-plugins-bzr), this bug should now be fixed
Can you confirm that it's better? |

Installed the bazaar version.
First of all noticed that indeed cinnamon integration is better (my cinnamon theme is even used for the right click menu of the dock, nice !).
Logout now works !
Switching to another user does not work but I noticed this does not work either if I use this option directly under cinnamon. I'll check with my distribution to see if this distro related.
Thanks for the swift reply ! |

Great
Switching to another user does not work but I noticed this does not work either if I use this option directly under cinnamon. I'll check with my distribution to see if this distro related. The dock should first try with DisplayManager by using DBus (can you maybe check with d-feet if you have this bus in the system section? => org.freedesktop.DisplayManager) and if it's not available, it will try with GNOME's display manager (org.gnome.DisplayManager). Maybe they also use a custom display manager... |

I'm also using Cairo dock on Arch, with just OpenBox. Switch User doesn't do anything for me either, the log says
DisplayManager error: The name org.gnome.DisplayManager was not provided by any .service files
Which makes sense, Gnome isn't installed.
Is there any way to do this with just OpenBox?
Thanks, |
