Hi to all!
I'm Using Cairo dock 3.3.99.alpha1, OpenGL, from weekly ppa on Ubuntu 12.04 64 bits, with Gnome Classic and Compiz. I'm using the weekly ppa version because the version shipped in Ubuntu 12.04 has a noisy problem: when the dock starts it uses 100% of both my cpu cores for a long time. I also tried to install the stable version from your ppa but there are some problems in packaging, I guess, because when I select a package to install (cairo-dock/cairo-dock-core/etc.) I always get a problem with dependencies.
Anyway, I'm happy with the alpha version except for a couple of details, but is not so easy to explain the malfunctions so I recorded a short video from my desktop that you can find here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lpvi6XqtPJg&feature=youtu.be

There are 3 malfunctions, 2 of them related with a sub dock: looking at the clip please take care of the behaviour of the sub dock icon on the far right of the main dock (the last one) while opening and closing the related sub docks, as well look at the icon of the second sub dock that keeps rotating also after closing and opening the dock.
Finally you will see that I can't fix the clock position, each time I open the dock the clock is in the position you can see in the clip when I try to fix it by checking the "Fix position" check-box, that is really strange because on the older version there was no problem with the clock position.

Obviously none of the "problems" produce crashes or blocks my pc, not at all, they are just annoying.

This is strange. These packages are tested and used by many people. Which ppa did you use exactly? What was the error message about the dependences problems? What's the output messages produced by this command
apt-cache policy cairo-dock-core

that keeps rotating also after closing and opening the dock.
Is it possible that it's linked to this new feature: when launching application (by clicking on a launcher), the corresponding icon is animated until the application opens. There is a timeout: if there is a problem when launching your application (and if the dock can't detect this error), the animation stops after a few seconds.

Finally you will see that I can't fix the clock position, each time I open the dock the clock is in the position you can see in the clip when I try to fix it by checking the "Fix position" check-box, that is really strange because on the older version there was no problem with the clock position.
Maybe because the dock (and/or the window manager) tries to not place a desklet (partially) out of the screen? Can you add a decoration to check if the desklet is not outside of the screen? If you use the same height than the width, do you also have this bug?

Obviously none of the "problems" produce crashes or blocks my pc, not at all, they are just annoying.
No but it's always interesting to report all these bugs, thank you

PS: about the screencast, it's maybe better to not reference it (not display by the search engine)

Ok, I find the problem, it was originated from a wrong version of the package libgldi3 , changing version to weekly it changed the libgldi3 version.
Anyway cairo-dock stable version 3.2 has the same malfunctions than the 3.3.99alpha1 version.

that keeps rotating also after closing and opening the dock.

I understand what you say, but I wonder if the animation should continue even if I close the dock (as you can see in the screencast). I don't think so.

Finally you will see that I can't fix the clock position, each time I open the dock the clock is in the position you can see in the clip when I try to fix it by checking the "Fix position" check-box, that is really strange because on the older version there was no problem with the clock position.

There are no problem with the area, the problem is that the field "clock position (x,y) " in the configuration window has two data field, the bottom one that configure the vertical position of the clock accept only numbers from -165 to ... any number greater than -165 (i.e -143 that should be the right position for me) is ignored and reset the field to -165.

PS: about the screencast, it's maybe better to not reference it (not display by the search engine) :-)

Sorry, I can't understand what you mean, my english is not so good.

Anyway you didn't say nothing about the fact that under certain conditions the stack icon on the right (the first one) is not being refilled with the "hardware" when the dock is closed.

about the clock position, did you set the dock to reserve space ?
because it seems that the desklet goes just above the dock, as if the WM didn't let it overlap the dock's rectangle

by the way, you can click on the small lock (bottom/right corner) to (un)lock the desklet, no need to go into the configuration

for the rotation that continues, that seems to be a small bug indeed
and also the box of the main icon is sometimes empty when it should be full, that's also probably a bug, thank you for reporting them

Ok, I changed from reserved space to others options and the problem disappears. That is strange because in 3.0.0 version it was functioning in a different way, with reserved space setted. Anyway it's ok now.

I'm sorry to bother again, but the same problem (the clock position at start) has come back. I didnot change nothing in the setup, the problem appears after the lasts updates.
What can I do this time? Which parameter can be responsible?
