I do not know if it comes from my configuration but the thumbnail does not appear when i minimize every application.
For chromium it does appear only if i open two windows (grouped in a subdock) and after minimizing them i can finally see the thumbnails. |

Yes, I confirm this bug but I'm not sure that it's due to the dock.
@fabounet: any idea? |

well good question, the fact is that I had to use XCompositeRedirectWindow (which was previously done by Compiz)
it may fail in the following cases:
"Only one client at a time may specify an update type of CompositeRedirectManual, another attempt will result in a BadAccess error. When all clients enabling redirection terminate, the redirection will automatically be disabled."
so if chromium has already set the redirecton to another value (or if it does after the dock) then I guess it won't work. Since chromium is the type of program that gladly uses hacks (see the window buttons), I wouldn't be surprised |

Well i would suggest that it's actually a cairo-dock bug
How to reproduce.
Launch an application, minimise it ==> no thumbnail
re-open it and minimize it ==> no thumbnail
With one icon i cannot get thumbnails to appear (i have got same class window in a subdock)
Only for icons in the taskbar thumbnails are working but not after the first launch. You need to minimize them once ==> no thumbnail and re-open them. After no problem it works like a charm.
To enable thumbnail i need to do that
Launch the same application (2 applications open in a subdock windows of the same class grouped in a subdock)
minimise and close them both ==> no thumbnail
re-open one and minimize it ==> thumbnail works
This is the only way i can get thumbnail to work for icons in the dock. |

Yep any icons
If they are in the dock i need to open twice the application minimize both and re-open and after i can see the thumbanils for this application.
If they are in the taskbar, i need to minmize them once in order to after see the thumbnails.
PS xcompmgr and openbox.. |

It's OpenBox (with XCompMgr) I think. |
