the packages listed here are for a Debian-based distro, but I think you can easily find the corresponding rpm

If you find them, it would be kind to write them here so that we can update the wiki

There used to be a Fedora package but I don't know if it's currently available.

something wrong with gtk/gdk pkgconfig when i built plugins. core is easy and ok.
anyway, i successfully built core and plugins, if you want repositories , i'm happy to upload rpm and srpm.

I think it would be nice if we could offer an rpm for the rpm world (Fedora, Suse, etc).
Is there an easy way to do that ? and will it work for both Fedora and Suse ?

how did you resolve this bug?

I think SQP has already tested the Suse builder in order to build packages for a few distributions (including OpenSUSE and Fedora I think).

But the most problem is that someone has to maintain these repos... Someone?

isn't it by chance possible to build an rpm package without using an rpm-based distro ?

I don't know but it should be interesting to also test all new packages

you can still try to use alien to switch the package between deb and rpm formats. Didn't used it for very long, but I already had it succesfully convert some packages.

And the Suse builder is a great tool if you have some time , because it's a slow process, but could be efficient and speed up if you have some knowledge of your distro libraries packaging (names, versions...)

I built the rpm on scientific linux 6.3 and think other rpm-based distro should be possible but I don't test.
Now everything is going smoothly except sound control applet always freezes on the screen. I had some problems on audio system before and nothing to do with cairo-dock.
Hopefully this will help.

Great Is it possible to share config files? Or it's also possible to add/modify a page on our wiki in order to explain how to build these packages?

And maybe if you have a few time, feel free to test the Suse builder, it can be very helpful for other people
