Hi,
How about adding a "No callback" option to "Visibility>How to call the dock back" selection? I presently have "Callback sensitivity" set to low and "How to call the dock back" set to "Hit the screen's corner" but my wife has a tendency to linger in the corners too long and the dock pops out on her...then she complains to me..:(.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.1 (32bit) Gnome Fallback mode with cairo-dock 3.0.2 installed from ppa:cairo-dock-team/ppa.

Thanks for your time.

Regards,

Bob

Hello

Did you try with a custom callback zone (it's placed in the middle of the screen)? You can use a tiny callback zone (2*2) in the middle on the screen, it's not easy to place the mouse there

Can you also explain why you don't need a callback zone?

Hello matttbe,
I like the dock on the right side of the screen, and I have tried the callback zone (2x2) before as well (the "Callback sensitivity" level is not long enough). The problem with that setting is the vertical scrollbar while using Firefox. My wife tends to linger/use the scrollbar a lot while playing her Facebook flash games. The dock eventually pops out on her even using the zone setting. Thus my request to have a "No callback" setting.

BTW,
I've tried a number of other docks trying to find a solution for this but none can compare to cairo-dock so I keep returning to it. I joined your forum just so I could request a "No callback" option.

Thanks for responding. :).

Best regards,

Bob

Facebook games are always linked to other problems

Maybe you can have a look to the .conf file (located in ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme/cairo-dock.conf) and change 'zone size =' (e.g. with 0;0 but I'm not sure that it will works )

Hi Matttbe,
I changed "zone size=0;0" in ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme/cairo-dock.conf and it worked pretty well. I also changed "edge sensitivity=3" and, so far, the dock hasn't popped out on my wife nor I yet. Thanks for all your help. Mucho appreciated. :).

Thanks again.

Bob

that's the problem with placing the dock on the right side
maybe triggering the dock with a shortkey would be a better solution ?

Hi matttbe and fabounet,
I'd like to renew my request for a "No callback" option to "Visibility>How to call the dock back" selection. The dock still pops out on my wife and I occasionally even with "zone size=0;0;".

It would be nice to have this option even if few people would find the need to use it. .

Best regards,

Bob

what about using the corners to pop the dock out ?
I guess you rarely touch them by accident.

Hi matttbe and fabounet,
Using the corners setting was the first solution I tried. Admittedly it does work better than the zone setting, but if one has their dock on the right side, like I do, then the popping out begins when my wife lingers on the Firefox or Chrome "Close" button (located in the top right corner) too long.

I'm just saying that a "No callback" option would be nice to have for those who would find it useful.

BTW, thanks again for your great application. It's simply the best out there. I love it. .

Best regards,
Bob

but then how are you supposed to call it back ?
with a shortkey ? Note that there is already such an option (except that the dock will pop out under the mouse)
