I am using Stack in Cairo-Dock and I like it. But the one thing that doesn't make sense to me is when I paste some text in the Stack for later reading, it only will appear for a second or two when I click it. So it kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it? I looked in Edit, and there's no way to set for the duration of visibility. I'd like it to just stay visible until I click it or some similar action, when I'm done reading it.

Hello and thank you for this bug report!

Yes, you're right! Currently the dock shows the dialogue during only 2 seconds...
@fabounet: should we compute the best time or remove the timeout? Or we can also add an option for that

Hi. Is there a quick simple fix? I love the functionality but wish I didn't have to wait for a new release.

Why not use the clipboard applet?
Perfect for keeping copy paste text

that's a mistake, yes we should probably remove the timeout

scottr99, you don't need to wait for a new release, you can use our weekly PPA (repository which is updated every 1 or 2 weeks), or even compile from the sources (there is a script that does all the job).

Hi taiebot65, from what I can see Clipboard can only show a very limited amount of characters, so that is not comparable what Stack can do, which is hold and view the entire selection of text.

Hi fabounet, OK I will try to update the repository in a few weeks (is that what you mean?), or if need be install/compile the source code. I think I know how to do that.

Thank you. Great app by the way!!

No, Clipboard shows a limited amount of characters but if you click on it, the text'll be available in... your clipboard. So it's a good temporally solution.

You can add our "Weekly ppa", I guess this bug will be fixed asap

Ok, this bug is now fixed on BZR.
The 'weekly ppa' should be updated at the end of this week.

For me I see about 50 characters with Clipboard (including spaces) and when I click on it nothing happens other then to put that text (which I can't see in its completeness) back onto my Clipboard. This then is not comparable to Stack, which allows me to read whatever was dropped there in its entirety. To fully see the Clipboard text I'd of course have to open up a text file and paste it in there to read it. I realize you know this but I'm just making the point that I don't see Clipboard as a useful alternative to Stack. Anyway thank you for the help.

Yes, it's just a workaround!
