hi!
is it possible to completely lock down the dock, so that no one is able to modify its content.
at the moment i locked it via the menu - but i noticed that it is possible to get to the settings screen anyway by right clicking the dock and selecting "help" from the context menue.
cairo-dock version 2.4 (ubuntu 11.10)
kind regards,

Hello,
Yes you can launch the dock with this command:
But you can also modify write rights of all files of this directory: ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme/
PS: don't hesitate to install the latest stable version (3.0.2) by using our repository/ppa |

you should do both (lock the dock with the option and the config files with the permission) |

when running this command :
cairo-dock -k
you should have the menu blocked and the configuration blocked as well.
can you confirm ? |

Yes. The option-k does not block the full menu. The main menu options cairo-dock and separator keeps active and sub ??menus option cairo-dock quickly hide more like mini-applications help and about stay active with administrative rights. I think that the switch -k should totally block any change in the dock, ie simple block the right mouse button on the dock. Thank you for your attention and I hope to contribute positively to the development of the dock. |

Indeed you're right, since the help is displayed in the configuration window, it gives access to it
so ok, the easiest way is to just disable the help in this case.
and also disable the "more applets" of course.
I'm not at home right now, but that's something you can expect in the coming 3.1 |

Of course Fabou... Tanks a lot ... the dock is increasingly mature and a great choice lightweight and stable. You are to be commended for their initiative. Await new version. I suggest then, that the -k option is configurable from blocked completely or partially. Could insert a new option tab where you set up position, visibility etc. .. call blocking, which could adjust as the -k option lock the dock.
tanks a lot again
