SQP here is my first entry. I hope you find it useful
Cairo Dock Help
Help>General(tab)> Using the dock (should say)
All applets are associated with an icon. Most icons have several functions. left-click(primary), middle-click(secondary), and right-click(cairo-dock-menu). Some applets have optional settings for a middle-click action which can be set by right-clicking the icon and choosing the action. These are optional settings and are therefore not set by default.
Help>General>Using the dock>Adding features (should say)
Cairo-Dock has many features in the form of applets. These applets are small applications which reside inside the dock (e.g. A clock or logout button).
To enable an applet open the settings(right-click> Cario-Dock> configure) go to the "Add-ons" tab (located at the top of the window), and choose the applet you wish to enable by clicking the check box to the left of the applet.
___
Applet Screen (should say)
Enable or Disable any applet (instead of saying Add or remove any applet)[*This is because clicking on the item only enables or disables the applet it does not remove it permanently as implied by the word remove.] |

Help>Icons(tab)>Adding a launcher
Help>Icons(tab)>Removing a launcher (should say)
To remove a launcher you can either right-click the launcher and then click “remove this applet”. (please note dragging the icon away from the dock simply detaches it from the dock. Dragging an icon does not remove it.)
Help>Icons(tab)>Grouping Icons into a sub dock (should say)
To group icons into a “sub dock” simply right-click on the dock or on a launcher > Add>Sub-dock. To move icons to the newly created sub-dock, right-click on an icon >Move to another dock>Select sub-dock's name.
Help>Icons(tab)>Moving Icons (should say)
You can move an icon to a different location on the dock by dragging it. If your dock has separators you can either drag your icon with in the separated area, or change preferences in Cairo-Dock so different types of icons are not separated. To do this right-click the dock or an icon>Cairo-Dock>Configure>Appearance(tab)> deselect (uncheck) “Seporate the different types of icons?” option. This will allow you to drag icons anywhere on your dock. To move an icon to another dock; right-click the icon>Move to another dock > Select the desired dock. If you select New main dock, a new main dock (as opposed to a sub-dock) will be created with the icon inside,

For a launcher or an applet:
Open the settings of the icon and set the image path.
For all set icons
Right-click the icon>Modify this launcher>Click “open” button and find and click on desired icon. The path will be set the the image. To remove a custom image right-click the icon>Modify this launcher> delete custom path entered into the box> Click “Apply”. Your icon will be reset to the default image.
For an icon not yet set as a launcher but in your notification area: The icon image can be set temporarily to any icon image. Right-click on the icon>Other actions>Set a custom icon> A dialog box will appear with the heading “Pick up an image”. This will be your image path. Find the image you want and it will be temporarily reset to your new image. To make it a permanent launcher see documentation under Help>Icons>Adding a launcher.
Cairo-Dock can use any icon image as a launcher icon. See your distribution's documentation for where your installed icons reside.
Help>Icons(tab)> Resizing Icons (should say)
In Cairo-Dock resizing icons means setting the zoom ratio. You can make their zoom effect smaller or larger. To change the zoom settngs; right-click> Cairo-Dock>configure>appearance (or press the Icons button in advanced mode)> Icons size>Select size from menu item at right side of window.
Note: If there are too many icons inside the dock, they will be zoomed to fit the screen.
Also you can define the size of each applet independently in their own settings. That means each applet can be personalized as you wish.
Help>Icons>Separating icons (should say)
Separators can be added anytime between any icons. Right-click on the dock or the icon you wish to separate>Add>Separator.
Alternately, icons can be separated in to their respective groups if you wish; right-click>Cairo-Dock>Configure>Appearance> select “Separate different types of icons?”. When selected this option will enable the choice of which types of icons should go first second and third on your dock. Doing this will only allow placement of icons within their group. Also for separators should add "To remove a separator: Right-click the separator> Remove this separator." |
