Just recently I've installed glx-dock because of Ubuntu 11.04 Unity isn't very user friendly.
I like it very much. It saves a lot of space. The only one disadvantage is that I have to move the mouse to show the dock. I think I would be quicker to have some keyboard shortcut. I thought about Super Key. I would like to press it and then see the dock come out.
I just can't find how to configure it. |

Hello,
I think there is 3 solutions for that!
- You can specify a short-key in the Visibility module of the advanced mode of the config panel to have something like that => http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOALiOFNhQs
- You can specify a short-key in your WM (Compiz, Metacity, etc.) and use this command to show the dock
dbus-send --session --dest=org.cairodock.CairoDock /org/cairodock/CairoDock org.cairodock.CairoDock.ShowDock boolean:true But I think it's useless because you've to use your mouse to interact with the dock...
- Or simply use the 'Remote Control' applet ;)

the Remote Control lets you control the dock with the keyboard, some people prefer keyboard than mouse
but if it's just to raise the dock, I think the best soution would be the 2nd, with the shortcut to a Dbus command. |
