OK so i just had to write a few things about this!Cause yesterday i had installed awn just for the sake of change and i was pretty impressed i must say!And if it
wasn't for a few minor things i might have even switched to awn!The thing that mostly impressed me was the ability to customize the dock back.It is not that there was a lot more it was just few details but that´s what matters! For instance you have the option of adding a inner outline o the top part of the dock background which gives a really nice look to the dock. It´s kinda like a windows 7 taskbar. In cairo you dont have that option you can only set an outer line which looks ridiculous because it goes around the whole dock!Plus i personally have a really annoying bug whith cairo!!!(When i set the default view for the dock and i also check the option to stretch the dock from one side of the monitor to the other and i click on an icon-especially on the right side of the dock-the dock back around the icon disappears! Here is what i mean: )So that would be all and as you can see it´s actually all about the docks background customizing abilities which are weak for a dock of cairos caliber.I would really like if you could add a few more options to customize the docks background. That would really be wonderful! And please consider what i am asking for don´t answer in some short fashion!
P.S. it´s me Zapata!!! |

Plus another thing that i liked was a little applet called expander and what it does it simply expands the distance between icons so you can have an icon on the very left few in the center and lets say the notification area on the right. It´s like the separator but it maximumly distances two icons from each other.I know this option exists in the panel view but it would be nice to have in the default view as well! |

expanders don't really work nicely with the zoom, that's why only the "panel" view has them.
so at least for now, this is the view to use if ou want a panel-like behavior.
about the background, I wonder if it's not just possible to do it with a custom image background (and no frame). |
