Hello!
I'm using Xubuntu 10.10 and Compiz 0.8.6 with a 2x2 workspaces wall. Compiz enumerates workspaces horizontally (top left is 1, top right is 2, bottom left is 3 and bottom right is 4. Switcher inverts workspaces 2 and 3. In compact mode this is just slightly annoying, the names are wrong, but each workspace is where it should be.
However, I wanted to try using it as a sub-dock with the slide view. This way, workspaces are shown in a 2x2 layout, but 2 and 3 are inverted. This means that when I click on the top right workspace, it takes me to the bottom right and vice-versa.
I'm not sure if the sub-dock view was intended to coincide with Compiz' layout, but it'd be neat if it did.
I can report this behaviour on Cairo-Dock 2.2.0 as well as 2.3.0 beta-1.
Cheers! |

Hi! Thanks for confirming
I've been thinking a little about this. What would happen if the user wanted to use a less common setup, say 2x5? The slide view shows two lines with 4 icons and 1 with 2. Could the slide view manage something like that? I'll admit that layout is a bit of a stretch, but I was wondering what are the slide's limits (I thought of the slide because it's the only view that can display icons in a grid). |

I can not install any applet in Cairo Dock by dragging the link to the dock. Just nothing happens when I do.
I have version 2.2.0-4 on Ubuntu 10.10 running with Gnome+Compiz.
Thank you for any help! |

What's the output when you drop the link into the dock if you launch the dock from a terminal?
And what's your video card? ATI? with free drivers? |
