Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit - Cairo Dock 2.2.1 Obeta 1 (BZR)- AMD 64 X2 - Nvidia GT 220 (Driver 260.19.29) - Compiz - No open GL
After updating today I thought I'd try and use open GL again. While everything is working (sort of) its not playing nice at all with the system. The dock and screen applets are very slow to render.I've changed the way the dock hides etc.to no avail. The screen applets are set up as compiz widgets and there is a noticeable difference in the time it takes to display them . I am also seeing a marked increase in cpu usage when hiding the dock or displaying the applets that is not present normally (cpu usage jumps to about 65%).I've also noticed that my web cam video controls (GUVCVideo) have gone haywire (brightness, saturation, contrast). I haven't been using the Open GL for quite a while so I can't say whether this is something new or been there for a while.
I do want to say that you guys are doing a GREAT JOB. The dock is looking better and better all of the time. Keep up the good work!

It seems it's due to your drivers. Is your card supported by Nvidia proprietary drivers? Maybe not

What the output of :
glxinfo |grep OpenGL

OK I figured out what was going on and hope this will help someone else.In the past with all the compiz problems the first thing recommended (right or wrong) was to enable sync to vblank in compiz and in the Nvidia settings which I had done. By disabling this feature and changing exposure rates on the camera controls all is working as it should. I even have Skype working if I load it before Cairo-Dock. Now its just a matter of time to see how stable the system is. Thanks for the help.
