I've (almost) finished my core rewriting
I've wisely pushed everything on an experimental branch :
bzr checkout --lightweight lp:~cairo-dock-team/cairo-dock-core/experimental
bzr checkout --lightweight lp:~cairo-dock-team/cairo-dock-plug-ins/experimental

few bug-fixes are also available.
several applet interfaces are now available for Python, Ruby, Bash, Mono (and Vala very soon). wiki is to be written.
alpha-testers are welcome

Hi,

I don't mind testing but.....I am sure it implies some manual compilation......

what do you mean by applet interface?

see the demos, in the plug-ins/Dbus/demos
it makes writing an applet much easier.

and yes you have to manually compile, except if you're cunning and replace the adresses and folders in the script

What about the new dependences? Because I think it will be ugly to see that we need mono to install cairo-dock...

and what about Java ?
of course no dependency is required.
I've written a little tutorial, I'm making a new topic.

Yes, if it compiles, why don't you push it into the core?

because there are few regressions yet (and cairo-desklet not updated yet), but I'm fixing them progressively. it should reach the trunk within few days
even if the trunk is supposed to be "unstable", I want to avoid making it a battle-field

Yes, but I continue to think that it's the purpose of BZR ...

If you want to test:
cd cairo-dock-core/
bzr pull lp:~cairo-dock-team/cairo-dock-core/experimental
cd ../cairo-dock-plug-ins/
bzr pull lp:~cairo-dock-team/cairo-dock-plug-ins/experimental
cd ..
./cairo-dock_bzr.sh ## => number 2

the experimental branch has been merged!
I'm thinking of renaming it 2.3.0 because
- there are many more changes than expected
- it will probably take until february to fix and polish everthing, so just in time for Natty.

DBus applets have been updated too, please test them since I'll activate DBus by default.
see http://www.glx-dock.org/ww_page.php?p=Documentation&lang=en for the complete up-to-date documentation to write an applet.
also a Recent-Events applet is available if you have libzeitgeist-dev (for now, it only allow to open the recent files for a launcher/appli on right-click).
