@ Fabounet: It seems this bug only occurs with some icons (gauges, box, theme for musicPlayer, etc.): all icons which are displayed thanks to OpenGL functions. But which functions exactly? Functions using FBOs (and its buffer)?

I have been having a similar issues for a long time. I reported at some point but never saw an improvement...then again I did not pursue it either

in my case it happens when I switch back in my account from another account

it happens mainly for a box which contains my favorites icons. It also happen for the compiz icon.

Normally and opening the box config menu and apply fixes the problem

I also have an Nvidia

Yes, I already notice this same bug on another computer!

Also I forget to say that I use the latest stable drivers (256.35) and I still have this bug.

We can find the functions used on the file src/gldit/cairo-dock-draw-opengl.c after:
if (g_openglConfig.iFboId != 0)

So it's the functions cairo_dock_begin_draw_icon and cairo_dock_end_draw_icon

I have mentioned this problem a while back with 2.1.

With 2.2 most of the icons got fixed for me, only the MusicPlayer applet gets all white (white square). I don't have the latest nvidia drivers, they are dated about Dec 09.

There is a thread on this problem somewhere else and fab thought it was nvidia's problem. But when I saw with 2.2 most of it got fixed, I guess there is a possibility to fix it within CD.

It's just because pbuffer functions have been replaced by fbo functions

But it didn't fix all of it? Or maybe now with recent beta all functions are fbo?

Argh I forgot. I can't remember my username from work I have to wait tonight and I will confirm it.

But matttbe, you said CD now uses a different way of handling something, it fixed all icons for me but MusicPlayer. Is MP using that new way of handling things or not yet?
