Greetings!

I've been using Cairo-Dock for a while but there is a problem that has been bugging me for months, and since I want to do some deskmodding, it has become a top priority to me.

Currently, I'm working with:
    • Cairo-Dock (2007-2010) version 2.1.3-10-lucid with OpenGL
    • Ubuntu 10.04 with Gnome and Compiz

Now, my question: How do I get rid of sub-bars? I was trying some themes for Cairo-Dock and there is one I like a lot, but it created a Graphics sub-bar that I dont want. I tried removing all the launchers there but the bar doesn't disapperar. I also tried the menus, of course; the contextual menu (left-click on the bar and/or icons) don't have any option to remove the bar, and the Preferences menu doesn't either.

The only choice I have is completely uninstalling Cairo-Dock (from Synaptic manager) and reinstalling from Ubuntu Software Center, but then I'm back to the default theme.

Is there any way to completely remove the extra bars?

Here is a pic of my current desktop. I added a new launcher to the bar and moved it to the right (the bar with the question mark icon) so you can clearly see it. Usually, that bar hides itself behind the main bar.

It s a subdock which has been created...

To remove it you have to move the icon back to the main dock by just drag and drop and after delete the icon .. and the subdock will disappear ( do not forget to unlock the dock)

Well by working on your bug I am encountering the same one i can not remove the subdock.. and the icon size of the subdock is link to the "separateur" size which is very strange..

You can also edit a launcher and move this sub-dock into the main dock.
Or by deleting the corresponding file in this directory
~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme/launchers/

(but maybe there is a bug beside...)

sadly, I can't "drag and drop" the subdock into the main dock, and even if I remove all the launchers on the subdock, there is this "button" (the leftovers of the edges of the dock) that doesn't disappear.
So, until the people of Cairo-Dock comes with the nice idea of a "remove subdock" option, I'll apply a low-tech solution: I sent the subdock to Virtual Desktop 5 to never be seen again! (I only use 4 virtual desktops =P)

to remove a sub-dock, just remove the icon pointing on it.
like any other icon (drag it out of the dock, or from the menu)

I am experiencing the same issue now i have got no icon but a space. and it 's impossible to remove. I think it's quite a serious bug as it seems to be controlled by the separators size but it 's actually a subdock...

how exactly did you arrive to this result ?
the sub-dock icon is considered as a separator ?

Ok i ve managed to reproduce it... It s all related to the separators size if i put a size of 10 and i add a subdock close to it my subdock is becoming tiny. I think it deserved a screenshot..

If i change the size of the separators the subdock size change as well
