"If you’re looking for something simple that just looks good and works then AWN or Docky". If "[CD] out-pace those former two [AWN and Docky] in terms of functionality and customization options" as he says, the user can make it "something simple that just looks good and workds". A damn terrible contradiction. I use CD in a minimalistic way, without effects, and yet cairo backend. If someday I want to see the things lighting up, at least I have the option to do so.

a lot of efforts have been made in the past months to make it easier to use.
it's now about to be achieved, but it will take some time before people realize it
the best you can do is to point out that fact wherever you can.

For the next annoucment, we have to add a screenshotvideo

not only minimalist, but especially showing the config panel, several actions like importing a folder into the dock or changing the sound by scrolling or detaching an applet.
all these things that are convenient and easy to do, but that you many not know about.

We could make a "clap-clap" auto-hide applet: when the user "clap-claps" with his hands, the dock appears. Another clap-clap would hide it. Useless, but if someone says once more that the dock isn't easy to use, we could show him that
