Hi there,

I've just updated to version 2.1.4-0beta0-20100324-0ubuntu1
There seem to be some issues:

1. All icons of open applications are now smaller than the other icons (regardless of the size indicated in the Config Panel)

2. Some of the descriptions in the Config Panel are now messed up

You can download some screenshots from the following link:

I don't seem to have this bug, but I've changed a lot of things recently, so the weekly is already old
let's try with the coming weekly (tomorrow Matttbe ?)

Hi there,

I'm now using version 2.1.4-0beta0-20100327-0ubuntu1 from the weekly PPA, but the bugs reported in my first post are still there.

1. All icons of open applications are now smaller than the other icons (regardless of the size indicated in the Config Panel)

2. Some of the descriptions in the Config Panel are now messed up

You can download some screenshots from the following link:

Some examples regarding point #2:

In Config Panel > Taskbar > Representation > How to draw minimized windows the first option is Make the config panel transparent, which is incorrect

In Config Panel > Icons > Separators the first line incorrectly says Icon size at rest

In Config Panel > Icons > Separators > How can I add a separator?, the options are Use a backgroung image, Add a separator and then again Add a separator

Regarding point #1, I can't figure out why all icons of open applications are smaller/resized.
I thought that it could have been related to Config Panel > Indicators > Indicator of grouped windows (which resizes a bit the icons of grouped windows), but disabling the "group windows" doesn't help

@ fab head: is it better with the latest weekly release?
Can you try to edit your cairo-dock.conf file, replace the version by an older and restart the dock? e.g.
sed -i 's/2\.1\.4-0beta0/2.1.3/' ~/.config/cairo-dock/current_theme/cairo-dock.conf

Sorry for the late reply.

Deleting that file fixed the incorrect descriptions in the config panel.

Regarding the incorrect size of application icons, I've just found that if I tick (it was previously un-ticked) Overwrite the X icon with the launchers' icon, all application icons go back to the correct size. Unticking that option makes all app icons smaller.

I temporarily reverted to ver 2.1.3 and the issue of the smaller application icons is not there, therefore it definitely looks like a bug in the latest 2.1.4 alpha version.

Is the fix already included in the latest daily version (2.1.4-0beta0-20100417-0ubuntu1)?
I've just downloaded/installed it but I still have the issue of the small app icons...

Or will you publish a new daily with the fix later on?
