The latest stable release is the 2.1.3. : How to install it here.
If you can't use it but want to have the themes, use "cairo-dock -S themes.glx-dock.org"
Next release is 2.2.0, you can already try the current beta.

I read the Wiki and did thorough search (Google), but have not yet found a solution. After installing cairo-dock and plugins from YAST in openSUSE 11.2, I have a handicapped installation. Most everything works, except I have no pre-installed themes at all. Tried reinstalling, but that did not help. Any advice would be much appreciated....

Also, would like to upgrade to the latest version, but can't get apt-get to work in openSUSE....

Yes, a bit harder on OpenSUSE, you need to compile CD in order to have the latest stable realse.

But about your bug, maybe you forgot this news on the top of the page :

Please use the latest stable release ! But if you can't and if you want to have themes' lists : $ cairo-dock -S themes.glx-dock.org

So :

cairo-dock -S themes.glx-dock.org

If you want the latest unstable BZR version compiled in openSUSE, follow my wiki update on that, it should work pretty well, depending on the basic packages you have installed prior to adding the ones I listed in the wiki.

For a stable more up to date version (Packman lags to keep it updated) compiled, I believe you need the same devel packages as the BZR, but of course you need to get the tarballs and not from bzr command.
