Hi, I recently had to install Cairo-Dock from the tarballs at launchpad, since my distribution (Gentoo) or any of the available and popular overlays no longer supply ebuilds for the svn version of CD.

I really like the work that has been done so far (I was using a build from a few months ago), but there's a particular feature that just keeps annoying me. I've looked everywhere and I don't know where can I turn it off.

The feature in particular is that which automatically switchs to your pointed app if you hover your pointer on its icon and leave it there for like half a second. I particulary dislike anything that has to do with a pseudo-auto-click that did not come from my right hand finger :). The exclamation mark that is drawn on the top right corner of the icon I'm currently pointing to also kind of annoys me. If the feature can be turned off completely that would be awesome, but if not, I can live with that exclamation mark.

Nevertheless, this feat really hurts the way I use the Dock. Please, is there anyway I can disable it?

Thanks in advance

GODLiKE.-

Ok, call me crazy, but my X just crashed and when I started CD again, that feature is gone. I swear it was there just 2 minutes ago!!

these symptoms you describe occur when you drag something over the dock (if you drag it over an application's icon, it will show the corresponding window so that you can drop your thing inside).
so it seems the dock was blocked in this situation, for a reason I can't see. did you do a drag and drop before ?

PS : too bad gentto doesn't maintain the new versions, maybe they just don't know we switched to launchpad and bzr ?
could you please report it to them ? thanks !

Hi fab

Maybe I did an accidental drag&drop which got FUBAR in the middle sorry for the alarm.

Regarding Gentoo, sorry for my previous ignorance, but it seems they DO have the bzr version after all (in the Desktop-Effects overlay).

After some research I found this: http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/desktop-effects.git;a=commit;h=2f7d0c45079f517ee1fcafbb27155d2f56ffdbdc

So I guess the cairo-dock ebuild is also the bzr version.

Cheers

GODLiKE.-
