I've finally been able to merge all the plug-ins .po files into 1 .
so now, to translate Cairo-Dock, there are 2 files to translate :
cairo-dock/po/cairo-dock.pot
and
plug-ins/po/cairo-dock.pot
and poedit is your friend for that |

they are on the SVN
There are some trashes inside due to extra folders I have on my PC, I guess I'll redo the merge
maybe it sould worth to reviw the japanese and italian translation then. |

Thanks, that was quite fast! Are the merged .pot files already correct in the SVN? |

yes, I've cleaned them yesterday.
fr.po is clean too.
ja.po and it.po should be reviewed, and the other have not been maintained since the 1.6.3
I guess it will be much easier to translate now |

Can somebody tell me, if I still can test the translation of the plug-ins, by moving the plug-ins.mo file to /usr/share/locale/nl/LC_MESSAGES/? |

I think it will work, but now there are only 2 .mo files (1 for the dock, 1 for the plug-ins)
or you can just add "nl" to the LINGUAS file and recompile. |

Working with the new big file for the plug-ins, I think for me the old way with all the different files was easier, alltough you have do a lot of pasting.
In the new file it's difficult to see to which plug-in a sentence or word belongs, because now when you want to start translating the big file you don't know if you have finished the complete translation of a plug-in and offcourse you can test the plug-in and see what's not translated but then you have to search every time in the big file for a word or sentence. Now it's also possible if you have not finished the big file completely that a plug-in is partly translated so you can not use it before you translated the big file completely. In the old way this was not a problem because there was only 1 file for 1 plug-in and this was easier because you didn't have to search for words or sentences and when you are finished with translating the 1 file of a plug-in, you could use it immediately even though you didn't finish translating all the other plug-ins.
Is there a way to know to wich plug-in a word or sentence belongs in the big file?

hmm, indeed the sentences are not sorted by plug-ins.
but in the .pot (and maybe in the .po), you can see the origin of a sentence. I think it can give you a hint on which plug-in it belongs to.
otherwise, just translating the whole file at once and testing in the end can be a solution |

@fabounet
there is a problem in the unified file, some sentences are no present, for example, the Wifi applet has lots of sentences that are not present in the cairo-dock.pot plugins file.
I have been looking in plugins ru.po and found those sentences:
#: ../wifi/data/messages:25
msgid ""
"Accessibility :\n"
"b+ Keep below other windows ?\n"
"b+ Keep above other windows ?\n"
"b+ Keep on widget layer ?"
consequently all translations (including my one to pt_BR) made based in the cairo-dock.pot plugins file are not complete.
Cheers. |

for example, the Wifi applet has lots of sentences that are not present in the cairo-dock.pot plugins file.
consequently all translations (including my one to pt_BR) made based in the cairo-dock.pot plugins file are not complete. Wifi and netspeed applets are now unified and the new name is Network-Monitor
Thank you for your help ! |
