Hi Rob,

Yes you did something "wrong" but it is not too bad

What happens is that when you translate the page for the first time is that you should as well enter a title for your page which will become your link to that page.

In your case you wanted it to be called Via uw distributie I assume but you didn't set the description to relfect that so the page is still called By distributions

I have fixed that link for you....

the idea is to replace
[[w:Via uw distributie]]
by
[[w:By distributions|Via uw distributie]]

So if you created some page doing the same things you can fix it like that but in the future don't forget to enter a title during the first translation

Thanks ppmt

Can somebody tell me what the bottom sentence mean in the problems section of the wiki: (where XX is a free number (the last one + 1) and USER is your user name.
What does the last one + 1 mean ?

          • Nvidia cards : Normally, it works well out of box with property drivers.

o But if you have this warning message : "cannot find -lGL", try this command in a terminal
cd /usr/lib/ && sudo ln -s libGL.so.1 libGL.so
o Or if you have that
NVIDIA: could not open the device file /dev/nvidiactl (Permission not allowed).
NVIDIA: Direct rendering failed; attempting indirect rendering.
. It's maybe because your user isn't linked to the video group. With a text editor (gedit, nano, vim, kate, etc.) modify this file /etc/group :
sudo nano /etc/group
and add your user name on the video group :
video:x:XX:USER
(where XX is a free number (the last one + 1) and USER is your user name.

Just apply this command :
cat /etc/group

You have a list with : GROUP:x:NUMBER:USER and for this bug you have to add a new group with a new number

Hallo everybody
I'm translating cairo-dock core in Launchpad, but there is a problem with the line 355. There is no translation but the suggestion is my translation already, but when I click the suggestion it moves to New translation( as it's suppost to do) and I click the box for New translation and click on Save and continue the translation is not being saved. I tried a few times and it didn't work.
Can someone look in to this please.
Thanks

355. English: Setting it to 0.33 will mean that 33% of the icons will reflect on the ground. The icons will be placed at the right distance from the front border of the frame so that the reflect is fully visible.

Current Dutch: (no translation yet)

Suggestions:
0.33 betekent dat 33% van een icoon reflecteert op de grond. De iconen zullen op de juiste afstand gepositioneerd worden vanaf de voorkant van het frame, zodat hun reflectie volledig zichtbaar is.
Suggested by Cairo-Dock Team on 2009-07-29

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your help.

In fact, there is a little bug with gettext. To not have this error (in launchpad but not with the program), you have to put a 'o' just after the '%'. But don't change anything, it's ok

Hallo everybody
I would like to continue translating, because there was a little misunderstanding. I thought I couldn´t continue translating on Launchpad but I still can.

of course you can translate on Launchpad....everybody is welcome to do it....

What make you feel you could not continue ? is it something we said or something you read somewhere?

I am asking because if there is a confusion somewhere we need to address it

I REPEAT EVERYBODY IS MORE THAN WELCOME TO TRANSLATE

No,it has nothing to do with neither one of you.
2 weeks ago I recieved an e-mail from the Dutch Ubuntu language team, that said you had to become an approved member of the Dutch Ubuntu team to continue translating on Launchpad. Before, the Dutch Ubuntu language team was not organized, because everybody could translate on Launchpad. I assumed I couldn't continue translating on Launchpad because I'm not a member of the Dutch Ubuntu team, not because my translations are not okay but because before the organisation was not good. 2 years ago I applied and nobody answered me but I still could continue translating on Launchpad. Until now I can still translate on Launchpad, alltough I'm not a member of the Dutch team and I don't know, when I'm not a member if I still can continue translating on launchpad. I applied to become a member, so let us wait and see. For the moment I will continue translating on Launchpad and if that's not possible anymore, I still can translate for you outside of Launchpad.

Oh ok, I think you have to become an approved member only to translate Ubuntu (=> https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+lang/nl).

But for our project you can see that :
Cairo-Dock Project is translated by Launchpad Translators with Open permissions.
So everybody with a lp account can translate it

Thanks for your help !

Ok I don't know about the dutch team... I am certainly not part of the French team.

I think as you long as you are part of the cairo-dock team then you translations become official for the dock...meaning no one needs to review them

My mistake,
I thought Launchpad was only for Ubuntu members.
Then I'm looking forward to working with all of you again.
Thanks

I guess that to get the full benefit of launchpad (ppa) it helps to use Ubuntu but it for sure is not mandatory.

I´m translating the Plug-ins in Launchpad, but I need some help. Can someone please tell me what these 3 things mean?
1) Scotch
2) Frame with scotch
3) Board, what kind of board is meant here?
Thanks

It's names of different desklet's decoration. That's imitate true thing :

1) Scotch = adhesive paper (in reality, you can use that when you put picture on your wall)
2) Frame = picture frame (part around your picture for protect or make more beautiful)
3) Board = picture board (part under picture, for protect too)

oups, I thought it was an english word
board is a wood board, typically to stick notes on it.
they are just decoration names so you don't need to be very specific I think.
