my docks position changed without me touching anything in the configuration and just by switching workspaces. the problem seems to occur randomly, switching workspaces a couple of times however easily reproduces the error. the "lateral gap" value is then changed in the configuration.

resetting the lateral gap to the previous value successfully restores the correct postion.

I'm running cairo-dock v2.0.2 on ubuntu intrepid. my position configuration is like this:
placing: bottom
align: 0.5
lateral gap: 0
distance: 0
use xinerama: yes
number of the screen: 1 (having 2 screens)

Strange...
Could you just make an update to 2.0.3 (or use Cairo-Dock repository => From the repository)

streange indeed, we already had this bug once.
use xinerama: yes

maybe that's the reason ? what if you deactivate this option ?

i just upgraded to v2.0.3 (via repository). i closed cairo-dock before updating. after the update was completed, i tried to run cairo-dock with the command
cairo-dock -c, which brought up the configuration window (no dock), which just restarted when i hit "quit". i wasnt able to close this window, since it returned again after closing. ps shows something like this:

08:44:33 ~> psg cairo
user 16673 0.2 0.0 1844 492 ? Ss 08:44 0:00 /bin/sh -c cairo-dock -c -m
user 16674 1.5 0.0 1844 492 ? S 08:44 0:00 /bin/sh -c cairo-dock -c -m -m
user 16675 3.1 0.0 1844 492 ? S 08:44 0:01 /bin/sh -c cairo-dock -c -m -m -m
user 16682 12.4 1.1 62528 23708 ? S 08:45 0:00 cairo-dock -c -m -m -m

i killed all of those, then started from console to see whats going wrong:

08:46:59 ~> cairo-dock -c
warning : (cairo-dock-internal-accessibility.c:get_config:60)
The option 'reserve space for dock' is in conflict with the 'keep the dock below' option, it will be ignored
warning : (cairo-dock.c:_cairo_dock_intercept_signal:195)
Cairo-Dock has crashed (sig 11).
It will be restarted now.
Feel free to report this bug on glx-dock.org to help improving the dock !

so apparently you guys make my dock segfault in v2.0.3. when its not properly configured

suggestion:
- dont make it segfault (i know this is just a bug and not wai )
- change the way the program tries to "recover" itself. that is: dont keep the configuration window respawning in and endless loop when the program crashes, leaving more and more processes (as shown above). at least, there should be a way to actually quit the program.

when i first installed v2.0.2 from your repos, it took me like 1 hour to figure out what the hell was going on, since i just got spammed with restarting configuration windows and no dock was started at all, just because one of the (default-on-)plugins was causing a segfault (thunar-something i believe). all i had to do was disabling this plugin, then the dock was starting up without problems.

as for the positioning problem, its still there with 2.0.3. i used to have 1.6.xx before, and i think there was no xinerama option. im happy you added this feature in v2, since configuring something like "left screen centered on the bottom" was nasty to configure. plus i had issus with vertical positioning as well, which was changed randomly as well by just switching workspaces.

i should probably mention that im running xfce4.4 as well as compiz 0.7, so i'm actually having only one workspace, the other virtual desktops are managed by compiz (size= horizontal 5, vertical 1, number of desktops 1).

hi, im migrating from awn to cairo-dock. Its a really nice, useful beauty dock. But i have a problem configuring my dock. In behaviour->accesibility i checked the "auto hide", "reserve space" and "keep the dock below" options but i cant apply them, cause they're in conflict with some other options im unable to find. The error message is:

The option "keep the dock below" is in conflict with the "raise on shortcuts" option, it will be ignored.
The option "auto-hide" is in conflict with the "raise on shortcuts" option, it will be ignored.
The option "reserve space" is in conflict with the "raise on shortcuts" option, it will be ignored.

I cant find such option "raise on shortcuts". What can i do, because my dock is in the top of the windows and i actually can read or click my firefox status bar nor any other botton of a maximized window.

Congrats for this new and awesome release.

Hi,

There is a little bug with these informations, thanks

For your problem, these 3 options are in conflict. You can choose only one.

@ Fabounet : why not having a list instead of 3 boxes ?

because "reserve space" and "auto-hide" are not conflicting options, you can use both of them.
But raising the dock with the shortcut is obviously conflicting with any option.
so just remove the shortcut you assigned in this module.
