Hi
I can't find any download for openSuse 11.1?

How can I install on KDE 4.13? Replacing the default menu?

Many thanks
Michael

These packages aren't created because none of us (now) have OpenSuse in order to create these packages (but maybe these packages will be created soon or maybe can you do that ? )

But you can compile Cairo-Dock, it's not difficult, see our wiki : By compiling

you can also ask on your distribution forum why they don't make a Cairo-Dock package.

Hi there, not meant to hijacking this thread, currently I am using opensuse 11.1, a very simple question about the updating method. I am now at version 1.+ and need to upgrade to the newest 2.0.7 I believed, do I need to uninstall the current cairo-dock first or just install the newer and installation will overwrite the old one?

The cairo dock 2.0.7 repositories for opensuse 11.1 can be found here http://packman.iu-bremen.de/suse/11.1/i586/, usually the missing dependency is libglitz or glitz in opensuse and it can easily be found in dvd distribution.

libglitz is not a dependancy anymore

The new installation of 2.0.7 just doing fine for my PC. I am using ATI Radeon X1300 AGP card, no fglrx installed instead of stock radeonhd driver. Manage to boost better 3d performance after read this http://dev.compiz-fusion.org/~cyberorg/2008/09/29/compiz-without-fglrx-on-opensuse-111/ and compiz fusion 3D is fine as well.

Read some issue of executing cairo-dock with opengl for ATI users, yup it is true cairo dock configuration will appear again and again without success of saving the setting and I need to kill the process to get my desktop back to normal. The option is to run it without opengl and it works with no ugly black background or no need to activate any fake transparency option offered. Just one thing encountered to my finding and happened many times, if I am docking a systray it will be very difficult to remove it later either option of 'remove this launcher' or un-tick the systray option in main menu, as the whole docking and desklet would disappear for awhile and appear again (I thought it refresh the system) but no change been made as the systray remained there. However the only solution is to drag the systray launcher to desktop, and un-tick to disable the systray in the menu, then systray can be remove successfully.

Many thanks to the creative cairo dock developers in making my desktop so cheerful
