Hello all.
I'm working on the new wiki for cairo-dock for the moment all the work is in french but you are here to help.
I want this wiki as good as will be the next release so I'm working to make this wiki more clear, Making it easier for everyone to find information about this dock.
I would like my mum being able to install this dock looking only at the wiki  so it has to be easy, clear and understandable.
So i ve made a glossary about all the words that "people are not used to" and we will give easy definition.

The next big part will be the How to use cairo-dock i want something easy and clear so i will put a lot of small screenshot maybe only icons for some stuff to show people how to make cairo-dock like they want

you should change the language of the message. Witohut that you are going to have some trouble to attract anglophone 
I am a bit busy right now with work but I will try to help in translating/writing articles for it

I do not know why the links are not working but you can find my work in wiki2.0 in the normal wiki....
For the moment i'm focusing on a good french wiki and i want to finish it at the end of next week 3/05/2009 after i will translate it in english. |

I do not know why the first three links are not working i ve got similar problems when i m doing the wiki i think it s due to the language preferences
because the last question mark should be &lang. Instead of having ?=fr we should have &lang=fr but when the page refresh this change is gonne |

It's not very understandable for english people ;-). For them, it's the same to put this warning :

mattbe: that's the way the wiki is working
When you create a page in one language you have the possibility to translate in any of the language you need.
For example: http://www.glx-dock.org/ww_page.php?p=wiki2.0
if you look at the top right you will see a link called "Traduire" click it and it will create the templates for the page ready
to be translated in any language supported.
Like that both the french and english/chinese/german.... are the same.
The idea being that depending on your local each page are the same but they link to your language. |

Ok i could not resist i have changed the main page like that you will see my work.
It s not finished yet but i m hoping to bring more enthusiast people around....
I still need some people for the glossary.. It s not hard you just have to do two definitions and for the moment a lot of them are easy to do....

Hey taiebot65 I started the english glossary today but I made a mistake when I created it and did not translate the page title so it still says "Termes et Définitions" instead of "Terms and Definitions" and now I cannot find a way to go back and change it. If you could go back and do that for me I would appreciate it.
Also I wonder how much of this glossary is really needed. I mean who has ever used a computer and doesn't know what an application, desktop, taskbar, ect. is?
Some of the items are titles of projects people might not be familiar with like cairo, gnome, X, ect. and I think it might be better to link our wiki readers to these project's homepages or wikis if they are interested in learning more about them.
I think the glossary should be trimmed to include only the items that make the most sense in the context of cairo-dock. Things like Container, Launcher, sub-dock, ect. just the items that you couldn't google a definition that makes sense in terms cairo-dock. |

I think i put all this terms because they are used in cairo-dock. Some of them i did not know about  like classe and PID. We have got some really basic users who are coming and sometimes i when i red the wiki i m quite surprised of the lack of knowledge  .And we are here to help !!! I think it will be good after when you have a post on the forum to link on this page like that they will understand quicker...
So maybe we still do a little definition and if it s not related to the dock a link to their documentation (Wikipedia or Wiki ubuntu)
P S i do not see your mistake... |
