When dragging launchers (.desktop files) from the Applications menu to the dock, then the dock breaks specified icons if they are given as a full path (not located in /usr/share/icons or something).
Here is an example:
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Angry IP Scanner
Comment=Fast and friendly network scanner
Exec=/usr/bin/ipscan
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Icon=/usr/lib/ipscan/icon48.png
Categories=Application;Network;
After dragging this to the dock, the question mark (?) is displayed instead of the icon. When I select 'Modify launcher' by right clicking, I see Image's name or path is set to '/usr/lib/ipscan/icon48', so the trailing .png is truncated. Please don't truncate it when importing the launcher by drag and drop, because when adding '.png' to the end manually, it displays the icon properly. |
