Hi guys,
I've been playing around with Cairo-dock for the last two days and enjoyed it quit a lot.
But now I have a problem which I cannot solve, because I don't have a clue at all.
Suddenly my Cairo-dock taskbar moved up to about 50 pixels above the bottom edge of the screen.
I can't remember what I did immediately before, but I guess I added the Rhythmbox applet.
I don't see a possibility to roll that back, as the value of the 'distance to the screen's edge' is 0.
The strange thing is, that it stays even when I change the theme.
Therefore 2 problems occur:
- The windows cover the taskbar as the reserved space is still there but too low.
- The sub-docks also cover the taskbar because they are displayed at the correct position.

So far my problem.

Moreover I have another question which is probably easier:
Is there a possibility to move the buttons for the active applications to the middle of the taskbar?
(at my taskbar they are always displayed at the left edge)

Thanks a lot

1/ did you try to move your dock with alt+mouse ? or directly in the config, by setting a non null vertical offset ?
2/ in "Icons", in the end

1) Moving the dock with Alt+Mouse works, but only until the next mouse click, then the dock jumps back to its old position.

2) Is vertical offset and 'distance to the screen's edge' the same or are there different settings?
If it's the same my value was 0, higher values increase the space below the dock as expected.
I have managed to decrease the distance by setting the value to -30, which is the minimum due to the graphical config dialog.
I have also tried out to set this variable manually to even smaller values like -50, but then really strange things happen after startup
(dock disappears on mouseover) and from -70 the dock does not start up correctly.

3) I don't really know what you mean by "in icons", what should be there or where to config the position of the dock?

I don't know, what else to do, I only remember that before a certain action (I don't know which), the distance value was 0 and the dock was immediately at the bottom.
Do you believe, the problem might be independent from the settings and a reinstallation of cairo-dock would help?

Thanks.

did you try to set your dock on another screen border ?
do you have multi-screens ?
try to toggle some accessibility options, like auto-hide or other.

you can always get the config panel on startup by launching the dock with the -m option
