Bonjour
I had a fellow ask how to have multiple docks at start up!
I am not sure what needs to be configured to have two or more cairo docks start up at the same time during start up or even if that is possible.
Any thought would be appreciated

I assume he means something like this : http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/1470/capture5tu9.jpg
He just have to right click on a launcher for exemple, then launcher settings ( i suppose in english ) and finally other settings.
Here he just have to change the name of the dock which the launcher belongs to. |

Hi coz,
To do what you want, you just have to create a launcher and edit it.
Just unfold "Extra parameters" and in "Name of the container it belongs to :" add manualy a contenaire that doesn't exist.
Click OK and a new root dock appear.
After you'll be able to put applets and launchers with this method.
To configure the dock just rigth click on the new one and click "Set up this dock" in the menu
There is also a way to have 2 or more docks with different configurations by using the -d cairo-dock's parameter.
This "-d" allow you to specify a directory the dock will use instead of ~/.cairo-dock.
I use the 2 methods on my laptop, the first to have 2 root dock: one at the bottom (normal dock) and one at the left (for editing and debug)
and the second to have 2 different docks on my 2 screens.
Enjoy. |

indeed you can create a new root dock by placing a launcher in it, and you can also do the same with an applet.
In the end, the only caracteristic of the main dock is that it hosts the taskbar. |

So here is the opposite question. How do you remove a dock once you have made more than one? |
