Is it possible to run cairo dock as though it were an application, 'non-sticky' on an individual workspace. Can more than one instance of the dock then be started up on different workspaces (with different configuration directories).

Alternatively, would it be possible to display applets conditional on the current workspace?

A quick cross-reference, mate-dock-applet 'feature request: 'no-sticky' pinned apps' https://github.com/robint99/mate-dock-applet/issues/89.

cairo-dock --no-sticky

does not seem to be working at the moment (Ubuntu, Fedora, Mate Desktop).

The sticky attribute of a window is actually a function of the window manager,

cairo-dock --dir=~/.config/cairo-dock2 # a config. directory for each desktop

wmctrl -r 'cairo-dock' -b remove,sticky # unset the sticky attribute using 'wmctrl'
